Express Yourself!
Teens expressed their creative side in the “Express Yourself Teen Read Week” Contest. From poetry to short stories, teens submitted all types of entries reflecting the theme, “It’s Alive @ Your Library.” On October 23, the winners were announced at a reception in the Main Library. Imperial Point Branch Reopens
Join us for a rededication and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at our Imperial Point Branch at 5985 North Federal Highway , Fort Lauderdale . The ceremony will begin at 10 am and is open to the public. The Imperial Point Branch was renovated as a result of the $139.9 million library bond issue approved by Broward County Voters in 1999.

Take a Journey through Haitian Mythology
Broward County Main Library and KOSANBA, at the Center for Black Studies of the University of California, Santa Barbara, hosts the opening of “The Descent of the Lwa: Journey through Haitian Mythology.” The exhibition features 106 works by Haitian artist Hërzsa Barjon and centers on Haitian aesthetic and spirituality. The exhibition runs December 1 to 31, 2004. This exhibition is organized as part of the closing ceremony of the celebration of the bicentennial of the Haitian Revolution. Salvador Dali on Display
Through January 15, 2005 , “The Inspired Moustache: An Exhibition of Diverse Expressions of Salvador Dali through books and memorabilia from the collection of Rik Pavlescak” is on display in the Bienes Center for the Literary Arts at the Main Library. For more information, please call 954-357-8692.
