Dec. 7 - Start the month by attending the performance of "Jingle Jazz Tis the Season to be Swingin'," with the Gold Coast Jazz Society Band, featuring vocalists Lisanne Lyons and Mel Dancy, at 7:45 p.m. at the Main Library Auditorium.

Dec. 10 - A Holiday Concert will be given from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Regional/BCC Library. Parents can enjoy the concert while youngsters shop at the Candy Cane Corner at the library and make holiday cards.

Dec. 16 and Dec. 17 - "The Chocolate Nutcracker," an African-American perspective on the traditional holiday tale, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center. Dec. 3 - Dr. Maulana Karenga, the creator of Kwanzaa will discuss "King Tutankhamun and the African Character of Ancient Egypt: Beyond the Mystification and Falsification of History" at 7 p.m. at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center. Call 954-625-2845.
