Literary Feast

March 11 - 12, 2005

Come and meet your favorite author at one of South Florida's premier literary events, Literary Feast 2005! Comprising three distinct events, Literary Feast 2005 offers a unique mix of literary, social and educational components. All proceeds benefit the Broward Public Library Foundation in its efforts to provide books and services not otherwise available to the Broward County Library system, and the Sun-Sentinel/WB39 Children's Fund's programs for low-income children and families with special needs. Literary Feast is coordinated by Byblos, the special events committee of the Broward Public Library Foundation.

NOVEL DAY FOR STUDENTS - FRIDAY, MARCH 11

More than 3,500 students in Broward County have an opportunity to meet an author as they discuss the roads they have traveled and the challenges they have faced as writers. As an integral part of the program, a short story writing contest with cash prizes is held in each high school.

NIGHT OF LITERARY FEASTS - FRIDAY, MARCH 11

This extraordinary event kicks off with a cocktail reception at the Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale, where guests can purchase the authors' latest books, meet the authors and have their books signed while enjoying music and cocktails, and participating in a silent literary-themed auction. From the Library, authors and guests proceed to private homes and elegant restaurants for dinner. Each author is a literary guest of honor allowing the attendees an "up close and personal" opportunity to learn more about them.

Reservations are required for Night of Literary Feasts as seating is limited. Individual tickets are $150 per person or $300 per person for preferred seating. To purchase tickets, please call the Literary Feast Hotline at 954-357-5954.

DAY OF LITERARY LECTURES - SATURDAY, MARCH 12

Come one! Come all! Join our slate of fabulous authors at the Day of Literary Lectures for a daylong series of engaging panel discussions, lectures and book signings, held at the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University, a joint-use facility with NSU and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners.

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis - no tickets required. Preferred seating is available for sponsors and Foundation members with membership card until ten minutes before each lecture.
